RING Camera Initiative

Building Blocks distributed and installed 200 RING Cameras in Kalamazoo homes as part of the City of Kalamazoo’s Gun Violence Intervention initiative.

Solar Light Initiative

Every year, Building Blocks focuses on block safety and beautification by working with residents to install solar street lights. Residents in the following neighborhoods may apply: Northside, Eastside, Edison, and West Douglas.

Maggie Wardle Porch Safety Initiative

Building Blocks participants have the opportunity to nominate porch safety projects on their block! Every year the Building Blocks team works with residents to identify and repair safety concerns on the block.

Reforesting Efforts

Building Blocks is proud to support resident-led reforesting efforts in the Vine and Edison Neighborhoods. In recent years, recent groups have planted more than 400 trees and plants Kalamazoo's urban neighborhoods!
